FreshFocus Lifecycle Policy
Overview
This article outlines the major version lifecycle policies for FreshFocus for Microsoft Dynamics 365 Business Central.
Policy
FreshFocus is developed as an extension for Microsoft Dynamics 365 Business Central cloud and is subject to the Microsoft's Modern Lifecycle Policy which aims to address updates to Microsoft products with shorter innovation cycles, such as Business Central.
Every 6 months Microsoft will release a "major" version of Business Central, also known as "Wave 1" (April) and "Wave 2" (October), with other updates made available monthly.
- FreshFocus is updated in line with the release waves of Business Central including new features and bug fixes.
- All released updates are cumulative.
- Critical updates are rolled-out as and when available.
- Documentation is maintained and each update will include Release Notes here.
- Customers should test updates in a sandbox environment before scheduling to production.
FreshFocus Version Numbers
FreshFocus follows similar version numbers in Business Central, where application version 1.0.12345.0 is

---|---|---|
Major | 1 | Major release of the application, with new features. |
Minor | 0 | is the monthly update number, such as 0, 1, or 5. |
Build | 12345 | A build number assigned to the application. |
Revision | 0 | is set to 0 for the original release and can remain at 0. However, if the tenant is patched with a hotfix, then that build number can be applied. |

FreshFocus is not available as an on-premise app for Business Central.

Per-tenant extensions developed on FreshFocus are also subject to this policy, we may deprecate functionality in line with our product objectives. It is therefore the developer's responsibility to maintain per-tenant extensions.
