FreshFocus Producer Properties
Producer Specifications
FreshFocus Producers are used to differentiate produce lots by geography/farm and ownership. This information can be defaulted at the item level but also at the lot level.
The diagram below shows the relationship and hierarchy of produce properties and producers.
Producers
Producers represent the source for the product that is received, processed and sold in FreshFocus. A producer normally represents an entity (such as a company) and is the 'who from' in produce traceability.
Each Producer Code should have a Vendor No. associated to enable payments to be processed in Business Central's standard Accounts Payable flow.
A producer can be shared among a single vendor to represent for example where multiple farms are owned, or to represent co-operative arrangements.

---|---|---|
Code | Code | Specifies a unique code to identify a producer. The producer code is used with lot information properties, and can have a many-to-one relationship with the vendor. |
Producer Name | Text | Specifies name of the producer. |
Default Vendor No. | Code | Specifies the related vendor no. to be used in connection with produce agreement invoices for this producer. |
Once producers are defined you can create sites.
Sites
Sites represent the different farms, that a grower or producer might own or manage. As such, sites represent the 'where from' in produce traceability.
Each site is associated with a Producer Code, and depending on requirements, you may use sites to represent a farm, a producer, or even individual plots.
There is no requirement for all producers to have sites, and/or blocks defined. The need to configure this is driven by the demands of traceability and at what level that is logical.
The caveat is if the item criteria you have setup require a site, then a site would need to be nominated (even if the site was for example coded as 'NA').

Site Code | Code | Specifies a code to identify the site for this producer. The site code is used with lot information properties, and can be defaulted at the item level. |
Site Name | Text | Specifies the name of the site for this combination of producer and site. |
Where additional detail about a site is needed we recommend using Blocks.
Blocks
Blocks represent another level of traceability and define the 'location of' in produce traceability. In blocks you can further segment the producer/site hierarchy down to any level of detail you need. You can also assign individual latitude and longitudes.

Geo Location | Text | Specifies the Geo Location coordinates for the block record. This information is for reference purposes only and can take any valid form (eg google earth, lat./long. coordinates). |
The need to use blocks will be driven by the unique needs of traceability for the produce, and the produce item card criteria that has been set.
